Oliver's 24th Birthday!!

This weekend will be Oliver's 24th Birthday... can it really be that he has been home from his mission for three years??!! Time has flown for our family for the last few years as there have been many wonderful happenings happen in our family. This weekend we will celebrate Olivers birthday here at the house after church with a nice dinner and cake and ice cream. How do 24 year old's like spend their birthday??... anyway, we will wing it this year and hope this will be a fun day for him!!
Since Oliver didn't take the antler mounting of his deer he shot this last year that dad mounted for him, I thought I would give him that for his birthday present too, maybe this will get him interested into taking it home and putting it up on the wall in his study!! Jazz Band and Concert Choir Concert Feb 12, 2009

Briggs had a concert last night and I have to say that with each year it seems these kids get better and better in their singing and their performing. It was such a great time to watch them with their confidence up and the fun that they have together as a team!! They have great teachers... Mr Johnson in music and Mrs Wortman in Choir. Earlier this month they attended a show choir competition in Papilion where there were 16 different middle and high schools there competing and Elkhorn Classic Middle School went home with the number one award. I am so very impressed and it is so much fun to attend these activities. THEY KNOW HOW TO PERFORM and I love it that Briggs is always up front and center!! Such a cutie, I must say!!

Briggs and Jim Crossing the Finish Line!!

I got a great treat today, Mikes cousin Jim posted a video of the PF Change 1/2 Marathon onto his facebook acct. I am trying to figure out a way to copy it onto here, IF this is possible!! If not, go to my facebook and click on the posting from Jim Kohout... in it you will see him and Briggs cross the finish line!! This is so exciting... I wasn't there for the run and so to actually be able to see it in reality is such a treat. If you watch the screen, look to the right side of the video and when you see Jim Kohout's name come on the bottom right corner... right above it you will see Jim and Briggs running toward the finish line!! It makes me tear up to see just how excited they were... I can totally understand... I feel like cheering when I come to the one mile mark on my treadmill...
(ok.. I know that's pathetic, but I still get excited when I've made it that far... I have a long way to go... I know!!)But, I cannot lift my hands off the handle to cheer in fear I will go crashing into the wall behind me!! Jim and Briggs.... YOU INSPIRE ME!!!

I had a Three Day Birthday Celebration!!

You know what.... it pays to get older!! I celebrated a three day birthday party... and it was so much fun!! What a great time and even tho I am now officially closer to 50, I didn't even get tired from all the celebrating!! Everyone is waving hi to the camera... see them??!! What a great thing for them to do!!

My Birthday!!

I have had the greatest birthday this year... Despite the fact that I am now 48 years old... I have to tell you that I have been so completely blessed!! I LOVE the fact that I'm surrounded by such wonderful individuals, each of them caring enough to show me love in their own way and I love that!! It sure makes a mom feel wonderful to see all the things she has taught her children to do DOING THEM. And I wont even get into how great my husband is... well... maybe just a few things... he is always standing beside me, always has a way of encouraging me and he is always showing me love in his own special way. Again, I know to where all my blessings come from. I have made this blog as a place where my friends and family can come to to see my family and get up to date on all the things going on in our lives... so with that... I will post a couple pictures from last night at my little birthday party!! Now, after seeing the pictures.. you may be wondering why my two older sons look so in to it... well, it may appear that they are escaping all the fun by involving their whole souls into their phones... but not to worry... they are actually digitally ordering for the whole group of waiters to come to our table and sing and present me with cake... (really)!!!

Briggs' Award for finishing the 1/2 Marathon

I wanted to post the picture of the medal that Briggs received after finishing the PF Changs Rock 'N' Roll Marathon. It's big and heavy so I'm glad they awarded him this after the run!!

Marathon Man !!

Briggs has been in Arizona over the weekend and he got to attend a Barrett-Jackson Auto Show with his Uncle Kyle, Aunt Georgy and cousin Stephen!! What a blast that was. Then he also got to be at his nephew Jack's first birthday party. If your thinking that was enough... well, Briggs in his usual self decides to run in a half marathon with his dad's cousin Jim the night before the marathon. He and Alex went and got some new running shoes for the big day and so not only did Briggs have to wear brand new shoes, but he ran the 12 miles without ever training for the race.

Now I have to be a "marathon mom" and get his laundry done before school on Monday!!

Dawn and Ryan just got back from Arizona and getting to visit my Grandkids... I'm so jealous!! They had a great time and all I get are these pictures!!! Just Kidding!! :-) Briggs gets to go this week... OK... next time is my turn!! --I gotta share, I know!

Ryan having a Jack Attack!!

Ryan and Dawn are out in Arizona right now attending the marriage of a good friend of Ryans. While there he is getting the oppertunity to visit with Alex and getting to play with Jack!! It was shocking to see how big Jack is getting... shouldn't he still be just a baby having to be held in arms??? Do they really grow up that fast??!! Jack will be 1 year old in just a couple days!! Ok.. I have to admit, I'm jealous of Ryan and Briggs as both of them get to go to Arizona this month and see Alex and family. And I have to stay here in good ol' snowy Nebraska!! When the weather turns nice, I plan to go out and spend some time with my little G-kids!!!! I love 'em!!
